Background
7th National Seminar in Education Issues (7th ISPEN 2026)
The 7th National Seminar in Education Issues (7th ISPEN 2026), organised by the Faculty of Education, Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS) in collaboration with KUISCELL Sdn. Bhd., continues its tradition as a dynamic scholarly platform that brings together academics, researchers, educators, policymakers, and education practitioners to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas on critical and contemporary issues in the field of education. Since its inception, ISPEN has served as a catalyst for academic discourse, research collaboration, and professional networking at the national level.
The organisation of 7th ISPEN 2026, themed “Sustainable Human Well-Being: Aligning Governance and Educational Practices,” reflects the pressing need to integrate effective governance frameworks with transformative educational practices to ensure holistic and sustainable human development. In the context of contemporary education, the pursuit of comprehensive human well-being requires continuous and in-depth reassessment of educational goals, implementation strategies, and systemic directions to ensure alignment with current demands and global challenges.
Holistic education can only be realised through ongoing reflection and systematic improvement of curriculum, pedagogy, and educational policies. The humanitarian and social crises within today’s educational ecosystem call for more meaningful teaching and learning approaches that are aligned with the innate nature and dignity of human beings. Emphasis on academic achievement and performance standards must be balanced with the development of character, identity, compassion, ethics, and adab (proper conduct) to ensure harmony between intellectual growth, spiritual development, well-being, and students’ overall formation.
Although modernisation and technological advancement offer significant opportunities for educational innovation, they also raise concerns regarding diminishing social sensitivity and the potential loss of human touch in learning processes. Therefore, educational institutions, particularly educators, must wisely integrate knowledge and values to ensure balanced and comprehensive outcomes. Research grounded in educational aspirations and existing gaps is essential to strengthen the concept of humanizing education and to reassess the effectiveness of current policies and practices.
The continuity of the 7th ISPEN 2026 underscores its commitment as a strategic platform for knowledge dissemination, policy reflection, and the strengthening of academic collaboration. Research findings and recommendations presented during the conference will serve as valuable references for policymakers, education practitioners, and stakeholders in formulating more humane and sustainable strategies for the future of education. Ultimately, this conference aspires to contribute toward nurturing a generation of learners who are knowledgeable, morally grounded, and capable of serving religion, nation, and society with integrity and excellence.
