INTRODUCTION

The International Symposium on Hadith 2025 (ISH 2025) goal is to bring together scholars and academics in the field of hadith through forum and research presentations related to hadith and interdisciplinary knowledge.

The theme of this international symposium is "Empowering Humanity through Hadith: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Contemporary Challenges". The theme aims to provide explanation and discussions to discover the relationship between hadith and other contemporary academic disciplines. The symposium will cover areas such as muamalat, Arabic language, halal industry, computer science and technology, ethnic studies, and more. Various current issues related to these fields will be addressed through the empowerment of hadith and interdisciplinary knowledge.

The purpose of this international symposium is to intensify efforts and to strengthen the culture of knowledge, particularly studies on hadith, among academics to produce research, writings, and academic publications that will have impact to scholarly values, and creating space for professional discourse among experts, academics, policymakers, and the general public.

 

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a platform for intellectual debate and presentation on hadith and its relation to various fields of knowledge.

  • To bring together experts, academics, and stakeholders to share views and ideas on the empowerment of hadith and the challenges of interdisciplinary knowledge.

  • To enrich the treasure of hadith knowledge, both academically and for the benefit of the ummah.

  • To compile findings in the form of e-proceeding, journal, chapters in book, and follow-up scholarly studies that will benefit all parties.

 

THEME

"Empowering Humanity through Hadith: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Contemporary Challenges."

 

Main areas:

  • HADITH- These are the subthemes, not limited to : 

    Hadith Authentication and Methodology (ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth); Isnad (chain of narration), matn (text) analysis, classifications of Hadith (ṣaḥīḥ, ḥasan, ḍaʿīf), methods of verifying narrators (al-jarḥ wa al-taʿdīl).

  • Contemporary Applications and Interpretations of Hadith; Relevance of Hadith in modern legal, ethical, and social contexts; Hadith and contemporary issues; integration with modern sciences or societal needs.

  • Digitalization and Preservation of Hadith Literature; Digitization projects, AI in Hadith analysis, databases of Hadith collections, preservation and accessibility of manuscripts.

  • Muamalat - These are the subthemes, not limited to : Waqf, Zakat, and Islamic Social Finance, Hadith harmonization in Muamalat, Compliance and audit in Muamalat, Risk management in Muamalat.

  • Halal Industry - These are the subthemes, not limited to : Exploration of key hadiths defining halal and haram, The methodology of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in teaching halal consumption and ethical behavior, How the Prophet addressed food safety, cleanliness, and consumer protection, Contemporary Halal Challenges and Hadith-Based Solutions, The Role of Hadith in Promoting Halal Lifestyle and Economy.

  • Science and Technology - These are the sub themes not limited to : Digital Preservation and Archiving of Hadith Texts, The Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Hadith Research, Online Platforms and Digital Tools for Teaching Hadith, Integration of Science and Technology in Islamic Traditions, Exploring how Islamic teachings, particularly Hadith, align with modern scientific advancements, Analyzing how Islamic principles influence contemporary scientific practices and technology, Ethical Dimensions of Emerging Technologies in Light of Hadith, The Role of Hadith in Advancing Scientific Inquiry and Innovation.

  • Ethnic Studies - These are the sub themes not limited to : Ethnic Diversity in the Early Muslim Community: Implications for Hadith Narrators, Ethnic Identity and the Interpretation of Hadith: A Cross-Cultural Perspective, Hadith and the Social Stratification of Ethnic Groups in Early Islamic Societies

  • Arabic Language - These are the subthemes, not limited to : Prophetic Hadith and Its Role in Building Moral Values in Arabic Language Society, The Prophetic Methodology in Addressing Social and Language Issues, Scholarly Contributions to the Preservation and Service of the Prophetic of Sunnah In Arabic Language, Utilizing Modern Technology in the Service of the Prophetic Sunnah.
